Job Description
Duties may include but are not limited to the following: typing letters, reports, forms, and other materials into final form from rough or corrected copy; typing tabular and other materials from rough or copy where format and arrangement of data are not clearly indicated; checking and proofreading typewritten materials; preparing, checking, and reviewing forms, records, reports, applications, and other documents for accuracy, adequacy, and conformance to established agency and/or legal requirements; evaluating documents and processing same according to individual circumstances where the correct course of action is not clearly defined; summarizing materials and preparing special reports involving interpretation and analysis of data and judgment as to format and details of presentation; composing routine correspondence and letters; setting up and maintaining files and revising system as necessary; giving information and resolving complaints over a counter or telephone involving interpretation and explanation of rules, regulations, policies and procedures, and knowledge of the agency’s purposes and functions; answering telephone and taking or relaying messages and calls; making appointments for the staff; greeting callers and directing them to proper persons or offices; and supervising and reviewing the work of others.
