Job Description

As a key enforcer of U.S. laws and Customs regulations, you will be working in an exciting, fast-paced environment in which you could come into contact with domestic and international travelers, ship captains, importers, and exporters. As you search ships, aircraft’s, baggage, persons, cars, and other vehicles for contraband, you will be playing an active role in preventing illegal drugs and imported merchandise from being smuggled into the U.S. It will be your responsibility to seize contraband and apprehend illegal importation. Additionally, you will have the responsibility of assessing and collecting any duties, excise taxes, fees, or penalties, depending on the situation. Customs Inspectors also inspect outbound cargo and passengers for violations of arms, munitions, and military export licenses, stolen property and currency reporting violations.
